The David Livingstone Safari Lodge & Spa



Location On the banks of the Zambezi River 17kms from Victoria Falls.

Activities: Own jetty and luxury boat, The Lady Livingstone, for 144 pax. It has three decks, each of which may be booked exclusively – lower (70), middle (50), top (24 in private luxury).

The Royal Livingstone



Location: On the banks of the Zambezi River within sight and sound of the Victoria Falls.
Size: 173 luxury air-conditioned rooms all river-facing. Four suites include the Presidential Suite.

Description: A luxury colonial-style hotel that stretches along the banks of the Zambezi River, just a short walk to the entrance of the Victoria Falls. Sit on the river deck and thrill to the sight of the nearby Victoria Falls. The elegant property consists of 17 buildings with large verandas; the main building houses the lounge, restaurant with a view of the river and sumptuous bar.
Facilities: Satellite TV, butler-service, swimming pool near the river, beauty salon, river deck.
Restaurants: The Livingstone dining room is a gourmet experience that can accommodate up to 130 people. Meals may also be taken outdoors on the veranda, lawns or on the deck.
Conferences: Small elegant room for 12 people. Well equipped with large mahogany table and leather-backed chairs. Main conference rooms are at adjoining sister property, Zambezi Sun, within walking distance.
Activities: Own jetty for small boats.

The River Club

Location: A remote spot 18km from Victoria Falls it is the only Livingstone area lodge set on high ground at the edge of the Zambezi River.
Size: 10 Edwardian-style stand-alone luxury chalets, including two suites with plunge pools and one family suite.
Star Rating: 5 stars
Description: Owner-run Edwardian-style eco-luxury lodge with stunning views over a sweeping bend of the river and sunsets. Perfect spot for a small and exclusive wedding, especially the island in front of the lodge.
Facilities: Large dining room seats all guests at one impressive teak table, though most meals are taken on the large veranda or outside under shady trees. Its pool is surely one of the most magnificent in the world. Each room has glorious river views. Tennis, croquet on the manicured lawn, snooker room and well-stocked library.
Activities: Own jetty and boats for cruising or fishing. Most idyllic spot for their famous DNA activity (Do Nothing at All).

Thorntree River Lodge

Location: Beautiful remote Africa on the banks of the Zambezi River 17kms from Victoria Falls and inside the Mosi-oa-Tunya National Park.
Size: Each of the nine secluded and spacious suites is located near the edge of the river.
Star Rating: 4 stars
Description: Known as home of the elephants as it is where the domesticated elephants are stabled. Thus up-close elephant encounters are assured. Perfect spot for a Wedding or Reception as elephants may also be integrated in the event to add a magical dimension to any special day.
Facilities: Pool, bar and enchanting river deck.
Activities: Own jetty and boats for cruises and fishing. Home of the elephants for elephant back safaris or walking in the wilds with these magnificent beasts.

Toka Leya Camp

Location: On the banks of the Zambezi River 8 kms upstream from Victoria Falls.
Size: 12 spacious en-suite safari-style tents.
Star Rating: 5 stars
Description: A luxury exclusive camp featuring wooden walkways between the units to lessen the footprint on the environment. Located inside the Mosi-oa-Tunya National Park and overlooking the river and several islands.
Facilities: Delightful infinity pool and deck overlook the river. Novel pizza oven.
Activities: Fishing and boating excursions.

Sussi & Chuma



Location: On the banks of the Zambezi River 12kms upstream from Victoria Falls.
Size: 12 luxury en-suite tree houses and two two-bedroom houses.
Star Rating: 5 stars
Description: Located on a dramatic bend of the Zambezi River this boutique lodge is located within the Mosi-oa-Tunya National Park and named after David Livingstone’s two faithful companions. It consists of an exclusive lodge of 12 luxury tree houses (Sussi), connected by wooden walkways, and two spacious two-bedroom houses (Chuma).
Facilities: beautiful pool overlooking the river.
Activities: Boat cruises, fishing, 4 x 4 drives, canoeing and guided walks in the park.

Taita Falcon Lodge

Location: Very uniquely located 11km downstream from Victoria Falls perched on the edge of the Batoka Gorge.
Size: Seven en-suite chalets
Star Rating: 4 stars
Description: Very highly rated for its astounding and dramatic location. Each chalet has en-suite facilities, including outdoor shower and private deck, and reed walls at three-quarter length that may be raised to full height if required. Breathtaking is the word for this location! The Batoka Gorge drops 226 metres down from the lodge and is a perfect viewing point for rapids 16 and 17 on the Zambezi River.

Avani Victoria Falls Resort

Location: Formerly the Zambezi Sun, this is the closest hotel on either side of the river to the Falls – some rooms are literally a stone’s throw away from the eastern cataract!
Size: 212 en-suite bedrooms that either face outwards to the natural bush or inwards to the landscaped pool area.
Star Rating: 3 stars
Description: Part of the Falls Resort & Convention Centre that also features the adjacent 5-Star Royal Livingstone Hotel. A fun-styled resort within a very short walking distance to the falls.
Facilities: Large and attractive pool with poolside bar, dining and entertainment.
Restaurants: A variety of on-property options exist including the large and enticing buffet restaurant, the Theatre of Food. Others include a steak house, poolside grill & bar, and open-air cafe. The Mukuni Boma (open-air) can seat a maximum of 300 for a gala function. The adjoining David Livingstone Boma seats just 20.
Conferences: The Convention Centre can be sub divided into four separate areas and can together accommodate 450 people for a theatre-style conference. Two boardrooms seat 10 and 12 and there is an internet cafe and business centre.
Activities: Walking tour of Victoria Falls and the craft market.

Chrismar Hotel

Location: Outside Livingstone close to The David Livingstone Safari Lodge & Spa but with no river views.
Size: 62 rooms include two executive suites and six deluxe suites.
Star Rating: 3 stars
Description: Best suited for overflow for conference delegates.
Facilities: Wi-Fi in all rooms, pool, gym,
Restaurants: cattleman’s Bar & grill, The Floating Bar and Brassiere Restaurant
Conferences: Three venues with combined capacity of 500 theatre-style and 380 banquet style.

Protea Hotel

Location: On the outskirts of Livingstone town adjacent to the Falls Shopping Centre.
Size: 80 air-conditioned rooms.
Star Rating: 3 stars
Description: Located 10kms from the falls well away from the river it is primarily a conveniently placed and priced businessman’s hotel. Suggest use only for overflow of delegates for large conferences.
Facilities: All rooms have flat-screen TVs, satellite TV, free Wi-Fi, business centre
Restaurants: One main restaurant plus a pool/bar.

The Courtyard

Location: On the outskirts of Livingstone 10 kms from Victoria Falls. No river view.
Size: 52 rooms, air conditioned with satellite TV.
Star Rating: 3 stars
Description: Standard and basic conference and business hotel only. 3 Star +. Suggest as overflow for delegates or for basic conference.
Facilities: Wireless internet, gym, pool.
Restaurants: Seasons a la carte, Zaytoun Coffee Shop.
Conferences: Two rooms – 250 and 50 theatre style.

The Waterfront Chalets

Location: On the banks of the Zambezi River, a supreme spot for a budget facility.
Size: 21 chalets (3 x Executive; 4 x family; 8 Standard; 6 River Facing Twins).
Star Rating: 2 stars
Description: Basic but large and comfortable chalets with all facilities, including en-suite bathrooms. Great for young adventure groups.10 minutes drive to the Falls and also to Livingstone Town.
Facilities: Internet cafe, TV lounge, pool and large deck overlook the river, dining room, festive and large bar.

The Waterfront Adventure Village Tents

Location: On the banks of the Zambezi River, a supreme spot for a budget facility.
Size: 24 tents
Star Rating: 1 star
Description: All tents feature two single beds and are on wooden platforms. While this is “back-packing” budget and basic the facilities at The Waterfront are the big attraction as a meeting point for the young and festive.
Facilities: Internet cafe, TV lounge, pool and large deck overlook the river, dining room, festive and large bar.
