Mowana Safari Lodge

Location: On the banks of the Chobe River 3kms outside the town of Kasane and 8kms from the airport. Victoria Falls is 95kms away on a good tar road using the border post of Kazangula.
Size: 108 rooms with en-suite bathrooms, including four suites.

Description: All rooms are river-facing and air conditioned. Mowana (Place of the Baobab) is set on the banks of the Chobe River and overlooks the Caprivi Strip of Namibia very close to the point where four countries meet.
Facilities: Scenic nine-hole golf course with clubhouse and bar, swimming pool overlooking the river, beauty salon, hairdressing, Savuti bar on first floor with river view.

Chobe Chilwero

Location: Adjoining the Chobe National Park 10 minutes drive from Kasane town.
Size: 15 stand-alone cottages.

Description: Each guest cottage includes inside and outside showers, free-standing bath, air conditioning and all are river facing. The lodge is perched on a hilltop with commanding views of the Chobe River and floodplains below.

Chobe Game Lodge

Location: The only permanent game lodge inside the Chobe National Park, 20 minutes drive from the park entrance near Kasane. It is 20 kms upstream from the confluence of the Chobe and Zambezi Rivers.
Size: 47 en-suite rooms includes four suites.

Description: 90 kms from Victoria Falls the Moorish-style lodge has the distinct advantage of being inside the park. It is the oldest of the Chobe game lodges and gained fame in the 1970s when Elizabeth Taylor and Richard Burton stayed there and were married on the banks of the river. Zambezi Queen River Boat

Location: Moored on the Chobe River near Kasane and the Chobe National Park.
Size: 14 luxury cabins (4 are master suites) with private balconies.

Elephant Valley Lodge

Location: In the game-rich Kasane Forest Reserve inland and 20 minutes drive from the town centre.
Size: 20 spacious en-suite safari tents on wooden platforms.

Description: Located on an ancient elephant trail in a protected wildlife sanctuary bordering the Chobe National Park. The active waterhole, which is floodlit, is frequented by numerous species, presenting superb photographic opportunities from the comfort of the hide or the camp deck areas.
Facilities: Dinners may be enjoyed in the open-air Boma on clear nights or under the cool thatch of the lodge main deck. Pool.
Activities: 4x4 safaris in the Chobe Park and river cruises or fishing. The forest reserve also provides for night drives that are not allowed in the Chobe Park.

Impalila Island Lodge

Location: Situated on Impalila Island at the confluence of the Chobe and Zambezi Rivers, where Namibia (Caprivi Strip), Botswana, Zambia and Zimbabwe meet at one spot.
Size: 8 en-suite river facing chalets overlooking the Mavomba rapids.
Star Rating: 4 stars
Description: All wood and thatch chalets are double rooms that can be made twins. Each chalet has a private wooden deck, en-suite toilet, shower, hand basin; ceiling fans; electricity by generator. A most beautiful setting actually on the Namibian Caprivi Strip.
Facilities: Infinity pool. Main lodge deck built around an ancient baobab. Dining area with individual tables.
Activities: 4x4 safaris in the Chobe Park and river cruises or tiger fishing. Magnificent bird watching. Fly fishing for tiger is the lodge speciality.
NOTE: Impalila has its own landing strip but from 1 November to end of April no fly-ins can land there and must use Kasane Airport.
